Bad Habits

Some day with Addison tells me that I am a mean mom I will show her this picture...

Ever since Addi learned to stand up in her crib nap time has been a struggle. I tried laying down with her one day and now we are about 3 weeks into this bad habit. I enjoy a nap every once in a while, but this little girl wants it every time! So Addison June I want you to remember that I was the best mom ever and napped with you every day!!!!

New Pictures

Isn't she a beauty at 9 months! Thank you Katie for capturing these memories.

Spring Break 2012!

Dave survived his midterms and we were able to celebrate with a whole week of freedom! Addison and I treated him to Joe's Crab Shack for dinner. Addison enjoyed all the attention and the dancing waiters. We got passes to the YMCA and took Addison swimming for the first time. She wasn't so sure this time around. It might have had something to do with the goggles I was wearing;) Dave planned a quick trip to Toronto for us for a couple of days. We bought a city pass which turned out to be the best way for us to tour the city. We got to go to 5 awesome attractions. We found China Town and picked a really good restaurant for dinner. Turns out Addison loves to play with chop sticks:) We made our way through the subway and did a ton of walking. Hauling a stroller with a 20+ pound baby in it up and down stairs made for some really sore arms. Good thing she is cute! It was spring break in Toronto so the city was really crowed which made for some long lines. Addison did better than either of us could have asked for! She people watched, ate snacks, laughed and took naps all from her stroller. Dave had me believe that our hotel was going to be a lovely 1.9 out of 5 star hotel. I was trying to be a good sport and go along with whatever he had planned. To my surprise the hotel was a little better than a 1.9! It was a first and last for Addison getting to sleep in bed with us. She could see us in her pack and play and was not going to sleep alone. She lost her binky halfway through the night and was a little disoriented from there on out. We all got about 5 hours of sleep, but pushed through the day running around again. We were exhausted after the trip, but look forward to doing it again!

5 Attractions:
Toronto Zoo
Royal Ontario Museum
CN Tower
Casa Loma
Ontario Science Center

We recovered from touring and were lucky enough to have Tara, Jared and Halle come over from Chicago. We were really grateful they made the nine hour drive to see us! We were so grateful for beautiful weather the whole time! We ran around showing them the best of Buffalo and the things we like to do around here. Addison enjoyed have the extra attention and sharing her toys with her cousin. We took them to Canada and saw Niagara Falls and the Butterfly Conservatory. We packed a lot of picnics and took the girls to the park. Addison loves to swing! I'm looking forward to a lot trips back. We toured Palmyra and packed up just in time before it rained. We found an awesome wood fired pizza place called Rocco's Pizza. Dave and Jared were able to fit in a around of golf with minimal sun burns. We stayed up late watching movies and playing games. It was a perfect Spring Break! Thanks again Tara and Jared for bringing cute Halle to see us!!

New Bedroom

I have been wanting a headboard for our bedroom for a really long time...almost 5 years to be exact! Thanks to my new best friend (pinterest) I found an inexpensive way of doing it. My goal was to do it under $40. When it was all said and done I did it for about $50. It turned out pretty good I think! Addison projectile vomited down the bottom half just before we were going to hang it up. Satin and vomit don't mix, but we were able to hide that half at the bottom. After 16+ sticks of hot glue here it is....

9 Months

Addison hit some serious milestones at nine months! She broke the twenty pound marker, started to crawl and got her second tooth! She is still a happy baby and attracts everyone with her smile (mostly the older men at the grocery store). She pulls herself up onto just about everything. She usually isn't happy unless she is standing up to the couch or trying to pull open a drawer. We had to lower her crib because her new favorite thing to do is to stand up and throw everything out. She is getting to be such a sneaky girl!  She got the okay from her doctor to start eating more table food. She still isn't really sure what to do with it. She does love crackers, cottage cheese, cheerios and beans. Entering the phase of crawling has been a love hate relationship. I was so eager for her so get on the move and now I don't know what to do! She can follow me and I have had to be on the look out for no no objects. Our glass coffee table has become a sore spot in our family room. It is the ONLY thing she wants to do. Turning on and off the dvd player is a favorite of hers that we are trying to break fast. i organized her toys into bins on a shelf so she can easily access them. Hopefully that will distract her from the coffee table area. Our plugs have covers, my pretty breakable decorations are slowly being taken down, stairs are being guarded, toilet lids are being closed and covers on drawers. This is our new life and we are embracing it every day!

9 month stats:
Weight- 20 lbs 7 oz/ 76%
Height- 27 3/4"/ 56%
Head- 46 cm/ 93%

My mom was able to come up for a little visit this past week. I had a project in mind and needed an around the clock babysitter. She was actually the one who got to see Addi crawl first! I was once again taking a nap just like I was when she rolled over for grandma too! We did a lot of running around and had much needed lady time. She helped me redecorate the guest bedroom and it is starting to look great. We painted stripes on a wall and found new bedding. I painted some canvas decorations and spray painted some old things that I had. I ordered some really cute fabric to make a pillow and a curtain. When it is all put together I will post pics! I don't think that she will be so willing to help if I ever want to do stripes again. They are HARD! We ended up having to buy a laser level which made a world of a difference. Thanks for making the trip Grammie!
