Sneaky Lady

Addison had her first lollipop this week. She managed to get into a bag and unwrap the treat herself before I caught her. She chose a blue cotton candy one. She enjoyed that lolli until the very last lick! Addison's favorite meal is still spaghetti. She could eat it every night if she could. Listening to her slurp her noodles is pretty entertaining:)

Fourth of July

Well the time has come...Dave left for his Syracuse rotation for the next six weeks. He leaves Monday afternoons and comes home Friday evenings around dinner. He is staying in an apartment provided by the hospital with a classmate. So far no complaints from Dave and Addi and I aren't doing too bad either. Jenny is staying with us still so I am not quite a single mom just yet. We celebrated the fourth apart since it was in the middle of the week. Jenny, Addi and I went to a BBQ at our friends and it was a hot one! We ate yummy food and Addi roamed wild carrying her new favorite accessory which is a little purse from her Auntie Katie. She ate a lot of food off the ground and managed to turn her white shirt multi -colored. She loves being around all her little friends!

We went and got town cards this week so we are finally able to go to the community pools. It was no surprise that Addison loves to swim! Jenny was teaching her to jump on the side of the pool. She hasn't quite  gotten it down yet, but I am sure by the end of the Summer she will be a pro. We also went swimming in he backyard a few times too. Addi was kind enough to "share" her hello kitty bikini top with Harley!

Addison likes goldfish...a lot. Like she eats them by the double bowlful a day. She has picked up so many new words! She is starting to say cheese for when she wants a cheese stick. She like to say BOO! when we are playing peek-a-boo. She has perfected calling Harley, Woof! When the bathtub starts running she gets really excited and tries to say, bath! She is our little talker these days.

Friday night after Dave got home we went to the drive-in to see the new Spiderman. We had planned on Addi falling asleep on the way there. The little lady managed to keep going until almost 11!!! Jenny came through and finally got her to give up and held her the rest of the movie. It was fun to see a movie there and I think it will become a frequent Summer outing.

The Taste of Buffalo was this weekend as well. I really wanted to go and Dave and Jenny put on a good face. We all got a lot of heartburn and it was terribly hot outside this weekend. My favorite was the chicken wing soup and Dave got fried catfish. Addison got enough ice cream to last her for a long time!

Letchworth State Park

We got ourselves up early and headed to Letchworth State Park for a family hike on a Saturday morning. It was a hot day and we managed to survive for about 5 hours! Dave calculated it and it was about 6 miles round trip. I about gave up on the last few sets of stairs. Jenny and Dave were power hikers and Addison gave up and feel asleep for about the last hour. She had it made on Dave's back in her new hiking pack! We hiked to the lower, middle and upper falls and stopped to eat a PB&J picnic. It was a beautiful area and hope to make it back!

Smash the Cake

Addison got to have a special first birthday photo shoot. She was an absolute doll face and I can't wait to put the picture into a shutterfly book for her. My friend Laura did an amazing job again capturing her personality. Our little lady loves the camera!

Beaver Island

Today Jenny and I took Addison to Beaver Island. It was amazing! I got my first sunburn in two years and Addison had her first sandy bum. She loved the water and hated when I tried to put her in a life jacket. She preferred to sit in the shallow end and eat the seaweed.  Addison learned a new trick...throwing goldfish attracts the seagulls. She still has an odd obsession with birds. We threw rocks and played in the sand for the afternoon. It was perfect weather and we hope to go back soon!
