I got back some of the pictures we took with the Fajen side this Christmas. It is a good thing we all tolerated over a hundred pictures because with little ones only a few turned out!

Getting Big

Addison has almost outgrown her car seat. I pretty much can't even carry her in it. There was an awesome sale on a big girl seat so we decided to upgrade. I had gone without Dave and the box was HUGE. Just picture me dragging this box while trying to keep Addison from pulling everything off the shelves to the checkout. It isn't quite as much of a struggle to get her in and out as her old one. Out little baby is growing up!!!

Check out those cheeks and neck region! She is our little round meatball.

We have been relativity lucky this winter with mild temperatures. Dave prays for snow everyday and this weekend it came true. It was time for Addison to get her first taste and face plant into the snow. The face plant was an accident, but she loved eating the snow! I think she is in the running for the cutest snow bunny around. I'm sure next winter we will be seeing this little snow angel running around in the snow!

We are slowly trying to convince Addison that big people food is the way to go. She pulls a sour face every time I try to give her anything non baby food. She tolerates a little more each time. However, I don't think that avocados will ever make the list. Bananas are being a favorite and she gobbles rice snacks so fast! She is also learning to not chomp down on that finger that sneaks its way in there too. She officially has her first tooth! Her bottom front right tooth broke through last week. My dad was starting to tell us we should have moved to West Virginia instead where people with no teeth are accepted. I also was convinced that she wasn't born with any teeth either. She proved us all wrong! She has been a little bit fussier and not taking good naps, but we will pull through this!

We are also working on our mobile skills around here too. Addi isn't crawling yet, but she will manages to get herself in trouble. She will tuck one leg back and lean forward as far as possible and then sit right back up. I guess as long as she gets what she wants in the end we are all happy! Her favorite thing to do is to stand up to her lion toy and bounce up and down. Pulling all her books off the shelf is also a fun thing to do:)

Look who still loves bath time!

We still dedicate all our spare time to watching Bones. We have squeezed in a few fun game nights and some dining out experiences with friends.

A Little Bit of Crafty

Addison was given a beautiful hand crafted Christmas present from her Aunt Jenny. It was a labor of love and I am sure she will treasure it one day. Even though the glass broke in mailing it and the post office wasn't kind to my dad with the insurance. Everyone thinks she did an amazing job! She did curse herself and Addison through whole process and reminded me how much she loved us to take on such a project. Thank you again!!! We love it...and you:)

Being on this new budget has changed my mindset when it comes to going out. I like to take Addison out somewhere pretty much everyday. Now that we are paying with cash I have been limiting how much we go out. So I forced myself to make something. I have a thing for owls these days. I drafted up a template and made Addi a little stuffed animal. I only sewed the feet in inside out once and the rest went pretty well. She still can't figure out the giant eyes looking back at her!

The Month of Love

I love Valentine's Day! It is a holiday that Dave and I have never really agreed on the amount of energy that should be involved. That is one of the reasons I had a baby:) So that I can make a big fuss over small holidays. We can have festive foods, do crafts, buy books about the occasion, make outfits and hair bows and best of all buy gifts! Even though Addison herself doesn't enjoy all these efforts yet she will look back at the pictures and love it! We made Valentine's day decorations and Addison still doesn't like paint on her. Wonder who she got that from....! I made festive muddy buddys which we have almost knocked out. Addison and I sent out some cute Valentine's to cousins and aunties. We have read cute books about doggies in love and babies who love their mommies. Addison has worn her cardigan with hearts and thrown up her sweet potatoes on her "daddy loves me" shirt. Oh and we have made a little time for her to flirt with her buddy Will. What could be better than this!

8 months!!!!

Addison June Michael is 8 months officially today! She is growing up so fast!!!! I can hardly stand it. By eight months we are finally getting a routine down...well sort of.

Just for our own memories here is a typical day:

7:00-7:30: Addison wakes up...someday she will understand the importance of sleeping in.
8:00 : She eats some fruit for breakfast
10:00 : Naptime- Some days it lasts 20 minutes, but on a good day it will be a good 2 hour nap
12:00 : Lunchtime- Usually 2 veggies or a fruit is involved somewhere
4:00 : A forced nap time is thrown in here sometime
6:00 : Dinnertime- The rest of her lunch plus another fruit
7:00 : Bath
8:30 : Rice cereal- I think Addison waits ALL day for this. Some nights she gets a yogurt too.
8:30-9 : Bedtime

Dave and I then spend the next little bit checking on her and saying how cute she looks asleep. This will probably only happen with this child:) We love Addison and all her personality traits. She spits out all her food and sticks her tongue out. We are working on eating etiquette. She likes to try and stand up in the tub by pulling herself up on the soap holder. She is OBSESSED with the drain stopper. No bath toys required. Every time I nurse Addison she tries to pick my belly button. It drives me nuts and is actually kind of gross. She is drinking from a sippy cup all the time now. She gets really excited when she sees the cup. She likes to stand in front of her toy bin and pull everything out and then play with the empty box. Who needs toys when there are boxes? I grab her toes when she is in her high chair and laughs so hard. I love it. She has a smile that uses her whole face. Every time we go out people always comment on how happy and smiley she is. We feel pretty lucky to have been blessed with such a good baby!

When Dad Is Gone...

Some major and terrible bug hit the Michael house. It was the first time that I think Dave actually wanted to kick me out in the snow. Needless to say our house didn't smell like roses. We sat in our pajamas for almost two days and took shifts taking naps. Thank goodness for washers and lots of antibacterial soap! Addison was spared from the wave and we were both very grateful for that.

Dave bit the bullet and went to class. He forgot his phone...so naturally something terrible would happen. It was an evening class from 6-9. I gave Addison her usual bath and was getting her dressed. She has formed a new habit of grabbing her lamp. It fell on the floor so I leaned down to pick it up. The next thing I know she has rolled onto the floor as well. It was a hard hit and it scared both of us. Poor thing probably cried hard and loud to compete with my volumes. After the initial shock was over I of course called my parents. I got a hold of one of Dave's classmates who told me Dave was already on his way home. All in all she ended up being ok and went to bed smiling.

My dad told me I should open the drawers next time to catch her:) Sometimes I wonder what was done to me that I don't remember anymore...

A Night Out

Dave has like 1000000000000000 pages to read so Addison and I went out on a date. Madeline was coming to the local bookstore and I used to love her books when I was younger. Did we go so Addison could her or me? I sometimes wonder why I force her to do these outings:) She fell asleep on the way over and got a dirty diaper right when we got there. She loved the songs and seeing Madeline. She only pulled one girl's hair whose mother made her move away from us shortly after. We are always in the market for friends! Here's to another typical Friday night!

She has learned to play nice on the floor so that I can make a decent dinner these days.

We were lucky enough to get some new family pictures with both our families. I love having pictures everywhere and it is time to change out the wedding pictures. We have had a lot of new additions!

Almost 8 Months

Time is flying by. I remember thinking am I really going to be able to nurse for an entire year. I am more than halfway there! Addison is entering new phases it seems like every week. She is interacting more and becoming a mama's girl. Since we have been back little Addi has become attached to my hip...or pulling at my leg...or throwing herself back til she lands in my lap. It took me all week to do laundry. We had grilled cheese or cereal most meals and I was doing well if I got ready by 5pm. No cleaning, no fun projects, no cool social outings. As I was laying in bed feeling like a huge failure I realized that I just need to enjoy this. I got down and played with Addison and not just put toys in front of her. Our days are slowly getting better. Mostly because we had an awesome addition of a fancy high chair!! I had been begging Dave to give in and get one. I have done a few mom's panels at Fisher Price and have been saving my earnings. For our date night we went out to dinner and then got a brand spanking new high chair. I am pretty proud to pay in cash from my "job". Oh and the best part is that the little lady LOVES it! I give her a sippy cup and she thinks she is hot stuff. I love watching her figure out how to hold and drink from a big girl cup.

The best part is that it fully reclines...this might mean that she never has to leave it:)

We had Addison's doctor appointment today. Here are her stats:

Weight: 19 lbs 4 oz/ 78%

Height: 26 1/4 inches/ 32%

Head 45.2 cm/ 91%

The doctor asked if larger heads run in the family...Dave wasn't there to defend himself so I quickly answered, "Oh from her father of course." :)

She gets to start little finger snacks. So far she doesn't really like them. I am sure when she figures out they go in her mouth she will be happy. Everything looks good and she is growing like a healthy baby girl.

Addison has enough hair for a little pony on top! I had to wrap the elastic like twenty times, but she held still.

Dave started a new semester. We were spoiled last semester. It was a good transition back into school life. He has class every day, but Thursday. Which worked out perfectly so I can go do some things for Fisher Price. Dave definitely doesn't have as much free time to spend with us. We still try and make the most of it. We officially finished the show Psych...all 70 something episodes. Then we got hooked to Revenge ( I can do a pretty good Victoria impression). Modern Family was a good filler for a while and now we are thinking we like Bones. Netflix is amazing and we sure do get the most out of it.

We have had a few snow days. Dave got a new heavy duty shovel that is going to be his new best friend. He is so good to us to do all the hard work out there.

We are finally getting paid from the Air Force. It is such a good feeling to know that our bills will be paid. I think I am finally sleeping well after almost 6 months. We feel very blessed to have to opportunity to help us through school. With income comes a new budget. I hate them. It is going to be interesting.

I need to document something. A secret about me is that I swear by tiger's balm. It is very similar to icy hot only 10x stronger. I was having a bad headache and covered my whole neck and side of my face with it and went to bed. I have had a burn in the shape of a square for about a week now. Lesson learned...do NOT use it on your face.

New favorite trick of drinking from a straw.

Can't wait for Valentine's Day. Dave and I made a pack to do homemade gifts this year. Not a problem for me, but I can't WAIT to see what Dave comes up with!!

I am finally going to Houston in February to visit Megan! I am counting down the days.

New Years In Idaho

Our winter vacation didn't stop in Cincinnati. We were able to continue onto Idaho Falls to spend time with Dave's family. Flying took all day. I thought everyone was going to clap with the flight was over. Poor Addison just wanted to take a nap in her soft crib! Tara and Jared were blessing their sweet baby Halle and we were lucky enough to be in town for that. We went out to dinner as a family and played some fun games on New Years Eve. Sadly I didn't make it to midnight. We have enjoyed going to our favorite food joints, seeing Rexburg, going to Jackson Hole, going down to Utah to help Katie move, Seeing Grandma and Grandpa Michael in Brigham City, making a stop in Ashton and just relaxing.

Aunt Makel finally got to meet Addison!

Dave was able to see his good friends Jeremy and Devin in Utah. I was also able to reunite with Andrea finally!

Our almost month long vacation is coming to an end. I don't know what we are going to do when it is just the three of us again!!?!

More Holidays

We kept the tradition alive of the girls heading to Kenwood Mall the day after Christmas. The boys stayed home and watched Ella and Hannah. Addison turned out to be a shopping trooper! I found a few good deals. I really wanted a rose gold watch and found one on sale! Of course we made a lunch stop at the Cheesecake Factory and had their yummy lettuce wraps. The next day the boys had their man day and went shooting and shot over 3000 rounds! They managed to go to a movie and a chinese buffet after.

We went to the Festival of Lights at the Cincinnati Zoo. Although Addison wasn't thrilled to be completely bundled up the whole night she survived. I love going every year and Dave was actually able to come. Afterwards my dad took us to this dive after that had the best gyros.

Cincinnati Holiday Adventures

We drove down a day early to surprise my parents for Christmas. It was awesome! I did feel bad lying to my parents the whole day when we talked:) We dropped Addison off on the front door step with a sign that said, "Please feed and water every 2-3 hours." We rang the door bell and rang. It was priceless! We were able to stay for ten days and we packed in a ton!

I of course made my first stop at Jersey Mikes! I was able to fit it in twice. We watched movies, played funny games, ate yummy food, went to the festival of lights, loved on all the babies and did a lot of laughing.

For my mom's birthday this year we surprised her with an entire day celebration. We started off with manicures and my mom got her hair done pretty. We then dropped the kids off at babysitters and headed downtown for a nice dinner. It was a Brazilian restaurant that was fabulous. Some of the best meat I have ever had. We topped the night off with going to see the nutcracker. It was a day to remember and I am glad we could celebrate such a special lady! On a side note this was the longest I have every left Addison. She was in good hands at a family friends that I used to babysit for when I was younger. I only called once!

For some reason that no one can really figure out Ella LOVES Dave. We think it is because he is the only one who never told her no. She would say his name over and over. I think that he secretly loved it.

Christmas Eve the boys were able to go see the Bengals play and actually win! We had a nice dinner and of course read the Christmas story and played bingo.

Merry Christmas Part 1

We started off our Christmas celebrations a few days early at our house. We exchanged gifts with each other and Addison got to open a few presents from Santa (also known as Grandma). It was hard to think of anything to give Dave this year! He made a beautiful dresser for me for our wedding and we kept saying that we wanted to protect the top somehow. So Addison and I went out on a little adventure and got a piece of glass cut to fit it. I think that Dave was really surprised and even a little impressed that i pulled it off:) Having Addison here to celebrate with was really special. I can't wait for the years to come as she gets older.

Addison got a pig nose binkey from her dad this year. She loves it!

Addi gave her dad a tractor book to read to her. She was not thrilled.

Tis the Season

Addison is gearing up for the big arrival of Santa! She has been so happy lately (probably in hopes of getting gifts)! She mostly enjoyed eating her tutu and pulling her bow off, but she still look absolutely adorable!

Dave finished finals with flying colors! I am so proud of Dave and all his countless hours of studying and hard work. One down 6 more to go! Let the holidays begin!!!

My First Christmas

Cute face, puffy hair bow, holiday shirt and TIGHT LEOPARD PANTS equals an adorable baby!! I think Santa will be making a stop at our house this year.

So much has gone on this month I feel like I can't keep up with every thing. We have been doing a lot of video chatting with family. I LOVE it. It makes being away bearable. Addison is a show off for the camera and can't wait to see all her favorite aunts, uncles, cousins and both sets of grandparents in person! Dave gets an awesome break and we are taking advantage of it. We will be visiting both families. Dave has had two finals and has passed with flying colors. One more to go on Thursday and we are home free til the next semester! I got a babysitter that night to celebrate:)

We have been trying to make a few holiday traditions this year. We made spritz cookies and actually plan on giving them away this year (Dave is on lock down from eating the whole batch). We have been listening to Christmas music non stop. We love pandora. I got my fill of wassil (my favorite Christmas drink). We went to a white elephant party and it was a blast. We brought a can of spam and a bag of chocolate coal. They were both a hit...who would have thought! Our relief society had a really nice party with yummy food. Christmas time is almost here and we can't wait!!!!

Pretty Dresses

Addison wore the CUTEST outfit to church today. Dave got her dressed and had a bit of a struggle getting the hat on. Needless to say she couldn't pull this one off! She is so fun to dress up and we love holiday clothes!

She is a hit in nursery. All the little ones like to show off their tricks and try and get her to smile. Too bad all the closeness I think has brought on a permanent cold. Thank goodness for saline drops and nose suctions! Addison has a photography date with this outfit later this week!

Carrots and Sweet Potatoes

We are moving right along with the whole food thing. We are anticipating an orange nose will be in Addison's near future. She has been enjoying carrots and sweet potatoes. She only dry heaved and spit out entire mouth fulls a few times. We are still working on not staining her clothes and all white objects surrounding her.

Dave has been on babysitting duty a lot lately. I have been able to do my Christmas shopping solo. Best present ever! I'm sure they do really intelligent things while I am gone.This is usually what I find when I get home

Special Visitor

Tonight we had a special visitor stop by our house. Addison is the luckiest girl around! She got a private visit from Santa himself! He brought her a fun little sock monkey and a candy cane. She loved him! She smiled and laughed while sitting on his lap. She must have been a very good girl already this year!

Naturally Santa was impressed with our Christmas tree:)

Addison got an early Christmas present and is loving playing with it. It is three wise men set complete with camels and little houses. She piles them all on top her legs and eats them! Glad she is getting into the holiday spirit!

We went over to Canada this weekend to the festival of lights display. It was really neat. We were disappointed that we couldn't find anywhere to park for a reasonable price so we ended up just driving around. My favorite was all the Disney chararcter ones!

Six Months

Our little baby is SIX months old! I can hardly stand it. She has grown into a little lady over the past few months. She has brought our little family closer together in her short life than we ever were before. She is a blessing in our lives and we learn so much from her everyday. We are grateful that she chose to come and be in our family:)

Here's the List:

Weight: 16 lbs, 12 oz/ 77%

Height- 26"/ 73%

Head- 43 cm/ 75%

She is a healthy growing baby! She got her shots and luckily her strong daddy was there again to help her through it!

*She is slowly becoming a better sleeper. Only nurses once in the night and maybe help finding a binky
* Still learning to like her rice cereal. She eats it twice a day and sometimes decides she doesn't care for it or having a bib on
* She makes a loud spitting noise and does it ALL the time
* Likes to have a soft blanket by her cheek when she sleeps
*Sleeps on her side now
*Still has the tiniest feet! She is barley fitting into a size 1.
* Almost grown out of her 6 months clothes
*Is learning to jump in her Jenny Jump Up and not just eat it
* Is sitting up more. I put her boppy around her and she can sit there for a while and play
* Likes toys that make lots of loud noises and bad animal sounds:)
* Likes to sit and listen to books or just eat them mostly
*Loves her daddy. She is always looking for him:)
* We can often hear to "talking" to herself in bed or in the middle of the night
* The carseat is no longer a place she wants to be...ever
* Her dirty diapers are turning into big girl messes!...sad
* Takes a nap around 10 and then a little cat nap around 4
* We are still enjoying going to story time at Barnes and Noble on Tuesdays. Addison has made a few boyfriends that all try to pull on her bows.

We are enjoying every day and loving watching her grow up into a unique little lady!

Let the Holidays Begin!

We were lucky enough this year to live close enough to my parents and my brother and his family for Thanksgiving! My parents drove up the Saturday before Thanksgiving and then we all headed to Boston on Wednesday. It was about an 8 hour drive with all the potty break stops (sorry guys!) and terrible traffic. Addison once again was a road warrior champ. She falls asleep the second we pull out of the driveway...wonder where she got that from:) I was sadly sick with a head cold and by the end of the week I think I had passed it onto almost everyone else. It was so fun to finally met cousin Hannah Grace. She is so cute and a very sweet baby! Someday her and Addison with be best buds. Ella is a great big cousin she helped give Addison baths and shared her toys all week. We had an amazing Thanksgiving meal and it was nice to all be together. We were able to go on a double date with Jonathan and Eliza and see some fun parts of Boston. Grandma and Grandpa did a nice job babysitting letting the grand kids break all the rules! We went to the USS Constitution ship which was beautiful. All the wood work was still in really nice condition. What would a Boston trip be without Mike's Pastry Shop treats! Little Hannah was blessed that weekend as well and we were glad we were there for it. Jonathan gave a very special blessing to her. I love that he blessed her to look to the righteous example of his aunts:) Guess I better start acting like one! Ella kept us entertained and on our toes the whole week. I love the age that she is at. I am really looking forward to Christmas! On a side note it was last Thanksgiving that we announced to our families that we were expecting. I can't believe how fast time goes by. I am so grateful this year to have Addison with us and everything that we have learned from her in these short six months. Oh and I am really grateful to have been able to enjoy the smells of Thanksgiving this year:)

Addison made her first Christmas "footprint tree". She was NOT a fan of having wet cold paint on her foot. Dave was a good sport to help hold her down and even gave her a bath after. I love how it turned out! Let the festivities begin!

Just Can't Get Enough

Addison is so fun to take pictures of. She loves being with her Daddy Dave. He can get her to smile and she is happy all day. It's a shame she is stuck with me most of the time! I finished a collage on our giant white wall that I have been wanting to fill up. I love it. It makes our family room look complete. Addison got a new giraffe toy and fluffy winter coat. She loves the giraffe and will learn to love the coat. She looks like a light pink marshmallow! She will be thanking the coat fairy once the snow hits!

A Whole New World

Our little nugget has entered into the world of SOLIDS! We are on day three of rice cereal and still going strong. We had to change feeding positions a few times and do a few dances to get her to open her mouth. Now we have got it down. Our little lady is growing up! We have high hopes this will help bring on sleeping through the night!!

One Year Older...

I am officially 25. I still can't really wrap my mind around this fact. I remember when all my siblings turned this age and didn't really feel like I would ever get to this point. I was lucky enough to have my special day fall on a Saturday. Dave worked extra hard to get his studying done by Friday so we could have a nice day. I got breakfast in bed...and I got to sleep in! Double wow! Dave hates cooking bacon as in he has never cooked it. It is one of my favorite breakfast items and he managed to include it on the menu! We went to the aquarium later that afternoon. It was so fun! We were both impressed with how much it had to offer. Addison loved the sea lion and reptile show. We had a babysitter for two hours while we went to dinner. Dave likes surprises and I hate them! He told me we were going to some dumpy Chinese place then it was Chuck E Cheese. He pulled a fast one on me took me to the Melting Pot!!! I love fondue. We have it several times a year on special occasions. We had an amazing 4 course meal that Dave actually enjoyed. It was a special treat and I am still dreaming of it all. We picked up Addison and came home and ate some carrot cake. Dave forgot he had gotten a cake until I stepped on it in the back seat:) It was a birthday to remember and I felt very celebrated!

5 Months

Our little Addi June is growing up so fast. I was laying in bed last night and thought some day I am really going to miss this stage of our lives. Addison is now 5 months and has such a personality. Everyday is a guessing game. Each week it seems like her eating and sleeping habits change. She is such a strange eater, but she looks healthy so I guess I won't complain. The days of her wearing hair bows I fear is going to end sooner than I would like. She pulls on them so hard they snap right back and she screams! She loves her hands and is learning that she can reach her chubby little feet. She puts her legs straight up in the air and pulls off her socks. She will never have matching socks again. We have lost so many I don't even bother putting them on anymore. She loves her jumper. She is still figuring out that it can make her go up and down. We are still working on teaching her to jump in her "jenny jump up". She likes to swing in it (Dave is the one who does that), but usually ends up just eating it. She hates taking her vitamin drops and we both end up smelling like them when the attempt is over. If you make really loud kissing sounds it makes her smile so big! She likes to listen to you clap and loves the sound of my hair dryer. On the days that Dave is gone I think so spends most of her day arching her back and tipping her head back looking for him. When he walks in the door I love her immediate reaction of, "That's my daddy!" We are still enjoying warmer weather and try and go on as many walks as we can. We have also started going to a baby lap time reading at Barnes and Noble. The lady in charge is awesome. She is a great story teller and somehow manages to entertain about 20 babies. We are looking forward to the holidays when we get to see family and enjoy Addi's first time with us.

Oh on a side note I got called to the nursery. I smiled to Dave and wished him a god luck with Addison as she projectile vomited on the bench and his dress clothes! We love Sundays:)

Cutest Little Pumpkin

Addison was a little pumpkin for Halloween this year. She got to wear her costume at our ward's trunk or treat and a school party that we went to after. She did an excellent job not eating it too bad and no throw ups either!! I love having a baby because it finally is getting Dave into the joys of dressing up for holidays! I managed to get him to wear a jack o lantern face on his shirt! We enjoyed carving pumpkins, baking seeds, dinner in a pumpkin and handing out candy. We all can't wait til next year when Addison will be able to go trick or treating so we can enjoy some candy!

We took some family pictures a few weeks ago by a great photographer (lswphotos.blogspot.com). It was freezing, but the effort of getting ready one more time for pictures was not happening. Poor Addison's nose was bright red. Of course she messed her pants halfway through. Luckily the color matched her dress and my sweater so photoshop was easy:) I love creating these memories. I want to do a photo collage on our really big white wall. I just need to find some cool big frames. Dave suggested just painting the frames on the wall (bad joke from my younger years that my parents weren't/still happy about). Addison decided to get creative during the shoot by showing her true love of picture taking in about half of them. We had a great time and thanks again Laura for putting up with our family!

Daddy Dave loves to do this trick with Addison called balancing baby. He holds her out on his palm and says in a cute voice ( he wouldn't be happy with me calling it that) balancing baby! She loves it! It makes me really nervous when he does it, but it gets her to smile pretty big.

My mom can into town to go to Time Out for Women with me. It was in Rochester which is only about an hour away. We had excellent speakers! It was a great girls weekend and just what we all needed. It was a boost of confidence as a new mom and the power of being a woman. Addison did pretty good during the conference. Grammie took her down to the mother's lounge as soon as she would wahhh. If only I could remember to pack extra clothes and more diapers when we travel! I'll get it right one of these days. I was a little nervous staying in a hotel overnight with a baby, but overall she did pretty good. Can't wait til next year!

The little lady...ROLLED over!!! We have been working on this for a while and thought that her little big head was going to weigh her down. Good old Grammie was able to coax her into doing it. Of course I was sleeping, but it was caught on video and she has performed many more times since! Way to go Addi June!

Just Hanging Out

Addison and I are confined to the house. I am going through a little dry spell and feel like I am losing my milk. This means a lot of nursing. Addison is loving and hating it at the same time as am I. We are getting in a lot of quality bonding time though. I have been feeling lately how blessed Dave and I are to be her parents. It hits me every once in a while that she is ours. She has so much of us both in her it is very interesting! Even though I find myself not really knowing what to do with her somehow at the end of the day she is always still smiling at me (or scowling, but i'll take either). So today I am taking a breather and realizing how great it is to be a mama.

What makes Addison her:

*When she gets excited (usually when she sees that I am giving in and picking her up) she stomps her right foot really fast and hard.
* Dave can get her to laugh so hard by doing anything. It kills me that I can't get her to do this, but I love that they can get each other going.
*Still hates gets dressed/changed. She has lungs...that work really well!
* She will stop crying if you start to sing, If your happy and you know it...
* Likes to hold the pages of the book while we look at them
* Still loves her binky
* Sleeps with her blanket tucked by her cheek (she gets that from me)
* Loves to stand. Hates to sit and still REALLY hates tummy time. We are making small strides with this one.
* Will sit in her swing while I make dinner and talk to herself. We like to call it the cats meow. She is loud and goes for a long time.
* No luck on rolling over yet and not really interested in the thought of it either.
* Isn't spitting up as much which equals me smelling just a little better everyday!
* Absolutely loves bath time...until you start to wash her then it is all down hill.
* Is getting more hair on top of her head. It is looking like a dirty blonde.
* Has tiny feet (she gets this from me as well) and short arms. She wears bigger clothes, but her poor arms are too short so we have to roll everything. The little lady has so many cute shoes just waiting for her! She is barley a size 1. She missed out on a LOT of sandals this summer. Grow feet grow!!
*Has Dave's little eyes. I love it.
* She has blue eyes. We thought that they would change and they still might. Neither of us has blue eyes which always raises questions:)
* Loves to go on walks in her stroller.
* She is a pretty good sleeper. I love her for this so very much!
* Has the best rolls all over in the world!

We love you Addison and don't want you to ever forget that!

Addison has been very busy earning her rent this month. Who knew that we would be counting on our 4 month old to help us pay the rent! We signed her up with Fisher-Price to be a toy tester. Well it is official we are now part of the United States Air Force. Dave commissioned in on Friday September 30th as a 2nd Lieutenant . I am very proud of him and all of his hard work to reach this stage. I will admit I am still a little nervous and probably will be until our time is up. Let the count down til 2018 begin...

Fall is here! We have been deprived of this wonderful season for a few years now. We hardly know what to do with all the beautiful changing leaves, cooler weather, apple picking, apple cider and of course the cute little outfits that Addi gets to wear!

A playgroup that I go to went on a little hike at Reinstein woods. It was so pretty. There were tons of ponds and gorgeous scenery. Addison was a great side kick. I got a good work out lugging around almost 15 pounds.

This was the biggest birch tree in the woods. This picture doesn't even do it justice.

Tis the season to wear candy corn bows and pumpkin tutus. She was a hit at the doctors. It must be a hard job to be so dang cute all the time. She even was lucky enough to walk away with an I heart breastmilk

I must admit that I do enjoy getting Addison dressed everyday. She has so many cute clothes to chose from it is ridiculous. She is better dressed than Dave and I hands down. It is starting to get cooler here so we have entered the leggings stage. They are so fun!!

The Tour

I have wanted to post our new home for a while now. I have put it off because it never seems to be picked up when I have a camera around. We it is now or never. I figure I need to remember how we really lived:) Of course our bedroom is left our because the bed is never made and I am always getting ready at the last minute! We really liked our home here. It is a duplex which seems to be what a lot of the housing is around here. It has a ton of nice storage space and is in a good location. We have a little garage...that you have to manually lift up the door. Our back yard is going to be perfect. There is a nice little picnic bench and a built in gad grill. We have used it a ton! Our land lord takes care of the yard work which I love. I do water the plants a few days a week. Hank, our land lord is a very nice guy. I think that I see him more than Dave during the day though. He takes very good care of the place. I still think that our basement is creepy. It is a little smelly, but at least we have a place to shove all of our junk. I can't fail to mention that I LOVE our brown shag carpet:) These are the memories we will remember for the next few years.

Boston Bound

My parents came up the first weekend in September for a little visit. We showed them some of our favorites in Buffalo. We went to Palmyra and Dave and I were able to go to the temple. It was our first time in almost a year so it was really nice. We toured around the church sites and finished the day in Rochester at a tasty pizza joint. Dave studied on Saturday so I took my parents to a little town called East Aurora. They have quaint old homes there and fun shops to go in. Fisher-Price headquarters are located there. They have a fun toy store that has discounted prices! Addison is already gathering her Christmas pile:) That night we were privileged enough to go to the National Buffalo Wild Wing Festival! It was a lot of fun. You were able to buy tickets and then go around and trade them in for different wings. They had a TON of flavors. Dave and my dad gave up early and went and ate pizza. My favorite were the honey mustard ones. We sat in the stands and watched on the big screen the food eating contests. It was sick! It was an event to remember. Dave had to study...again on Monday. I took my parents to Canada. We took a picnic and enjoyed site seeing. It took us about two hours to get back across the border!!! It was terrible. It was labor day so they were being very thorough to say the least. Dave and I snuck out on a date that evening. I don't mind leaving Addison, but I hate that I think about her the whole time! The next day my parents, Addison and I left for Boston. It was Jonathan's big 30th birthday! I had never been and Dave had of course a lot of studying. We got about two hours on the road and Dave called to tell us we forgot all of Addison's things in her room. WOW! Thank goodness for Sam's Club (yes I still shop there). It was an amazing town to tour. We made our way to the beach at Cape Cod. It was beautiful! Addison and Ella had a great time together again of course. Ella is the best biggest cousin!

Milestone!

Addison June likes a lot of things in life, but HATES tummy time. She knows how to get out of it pretty quickly of course. Dave and I can't stand to listen to her cry for very long so therefore she is not doing it very much. However, this past week we hit a record of about 8 minutes. I used all my energy and tricks to keep her distracted into thinking she liked it. Dave was at school so he missed it, but don't worry I had the camera near by!

Addison had shots today. Dave was able to come with me and I was very grateful. It was sad to see him hold her down, but she did really well! She looked around for a second after and then cried. She calmed down pretty quickly. Way to not be a wuss like her mama! Oh and don't worry I ate a sucker to make her feel better:)

Final Catchup

I am bound to get caught up and this is my final attempt to remember July and August!

I have to first announce that Addison is now a BIG cousin! Jonathan and Eliza had a baby girl Hannah Grace September 13th. Ella will now have a new name to learn. We just spent a week in Boston with them and I am sure they will be best buds someday :)

After we blessed little Addison we drove the rest of the way to Buffalo. We followed Dave's parents who drove the truck (thank you!) for the final 7 hours. We arrived at our new little home which I am falling in love with. It is a duplex and has lots and lots of space for all of our...STUFF. You never realize how much you have until you have to shove it all in a truck. Nothing broke and only a few baking pans have walked off :)

Dave's parents were here for a few days after we arrived. Dave got to celebrate his 27th birthday moving boxes and oh yea moving more boxes.Good thing we did a little celebration in Cincinnati before we left. It was a terrible maze for about two weeks. We all gave up on unpacking one day and went to Niagara Falls. It was Addison's first time out of the country! She has become quite the world traveler. We rode Maid of the Mist and got to see the falls up close. It was beautiful! The weather was way to hot that day and so it made for a long, but enjoyable day.

We are now officially New Yorkers. We surrendered our drivers license (so happy to get rid of mine with a horrible hair cut) and got New York plates. It cost us a ridiculous amount for both and wasted a lot of time, but at least it is over.

Dave had about 3 weeks before he started his program so we tried to squeeze in a lot. Most of it was so we could continue avoiding unpacking:) We went to the county fair. Ate our weight in fried food and saw some animals. Got into the Buffalo spirit and went to a Buffalo Bison baseball game(thanks Katie, Jonathan and Eliza)!Addison's room got painted! It is a pretty light/bright green. We went to the hydroplane races. It was too loud for Addison, but was a lot of fun to watch for a bit. We have toured around Buffalo and are feeling like we will enjoy living here for a while!

Pretty Little Lady

Way back when Addison was 3 weeks (that seems so long ago!) my very talented friend Lexy Reber took some beautiful pictures. I love the way they turned out. The first round of shoots didn't go as well as planned. Addison peed on Dave and pooped on my leg. I should have listened when Dave said to leave her diaper on! We tried again 2 weeks later and got some really nice ones. I was able to make a nice birth announcement...finally! I sent it out when she was like 10 weeks. Better late than never I suppose. I will treasure these memories for a long time. Thank you again Lexy!

Addison is growing so much I can hardly stand it. She is getting herself more into a routine. She finally has a crib and loves to sleep in it. Or should I say be in it any chance she can get. She loves to just sit in there and watch her mobile...for hours. Still trying to figure out how to get the 4 minute song on there to last longer. She is getting so round and chubby weighing in at 13 1/2 pounds and 24 inches long. She is starting to bring her little hands together and toys to her mouth. She still hates tummy time with a passion. She only last about 3 minutes before she is screaming with all her power. She loves to sleep with her blanket by her cheek and her arms way above her head. No matter how many times I trim her nails she still wakes up with battle wounds. She likes to keep her hands messing all over her face. We love her more and more every day. She keeps us on our toes and is changing in a pretty little lady. Her little personality is starting to poke through and we are starting to blame each other for her little traits:) All in all she is a happy healthy baby!!

Baby Blessing

We were able to bless little Addison June in my home ward in Cincinnati on July 31st. It was such a special day and I was so glad both our parents were able to be there. Addison was a beauty in her one of a kind dress. I begged my mom to make a blessing dress out of my wedding dress. She cursed me the whole way because of all the beading, but it was AMAZING! It will something to treasure for a long time.

Grandma Fajen found a pretty little peal bracelet for her to wear.

Dave did a really nice job on the blessing. It was something I won't forget. It is still hard for me to believe that it was our baby being blessed up there. In the circle we had Bishop Woolf, Bishop Schaeffer, Steve Waldman, Steve Christensen, Ronnie Riggs, and both our dads. I loved being able to have so many men in the circle who have influenced my life.

Aunt Eliza and cousin Ella were able to come into town.

Dave did this same little thing when he was a baby! Now she is into just shoving the whole fist in her mouth, It is a lot more satisfying.

We had an open house after the blessing for Addison to meet all my Cincinnati "family". It was a lot of fun to see everyone again. We had yummy desserts and partied the whole night! Grandma Michael and Addison in her party attire.

Cousins! Ella loved Addison! I am sure some day the feelings will be mutual when Addison can poke Ella in the eye back! Ella loved to come running to her saying baby ADDDIIIEEE!!!

Blogging is so overwhelming when I want to write about everything. I am way behind. I WILL catch up. Dave finished his first week of school and survived! He will be doing a lot of studying. This is a hard adjustment just having spent 5 weeks of play time with him. Addison and I are learning our way around town and making lots of fun friends. We are working on Addison's recent loud cry so that hopefully we will continue to make more friends!

Oh and on a side note we attended our first National Buffalo Wild Wing Festival...WOW. That was a once in a life time experience!

New Addition Continued...

We headed to sunny California for a Michael family reunion. Addison was a champ for the most part on her first road trip at five weeks. She took her first bottle and didn't even put up a fuss. We stopped about halfway in Phoenix to fulfill a ginormous craving that I had during my whole pregnancy.

Jersey Mikes!! It was delicious. I ordered a whole 24 inches. Dave could hardly believe that I was capable of out eating him.

We made our first stop in Chino Hills at Paul and Jenny's house. We had a nice day with them and Addison had her first meeting with Harley. He loved sniffing and getting excited around her!

We furthered our drive to Beullton where Dave's parents were staying.

It was so nice to be able to introduce Addison to everyone (except Makel who was working in Tennessee). We had a full house in the RV park, but enjoyed being together and having Addison be spoiled by hugs and kisses. We went to the beach even though it was windy and too cold to get in the water. We did a tiny hike to a pretty waterfall and walked around a wharf in Santa Barbra. We did a little shopping along Santa Barbra and visited a dutch town called Solvang. They had a delicious chocolate shop that I could eat at everyday.

Gunner was the only brave one enough to get in the water. He found a few treasures in the water and sported a new style of bathing suit :)

We all headed down to LA to go to Knotts Berry Farm for the next few days. It was a stressful drive to say the least. Traffic was terrible and sweet car got a makeover. I was so sad, but my dad and his friend have been able to fix it. It looks brand spanking new and I get it back in a few weeks! I have pretty New York license plates waiting to be put on it. We weren't sure how the car would drive so we had to leave a day early to make sure we had enough time to get Dave back for work. We of course made a little stop at Jersey Mikes on the way home and found some nice outlet malls.

Grandma & Grandpa Michael who snuck Addison into bed one early morning in the hotel and I thought we had lost her!

Addison had a GIANT problem during lunch. It fell out of her diaper all over the chair and floor. Poor little lady was pretty upset.

Addison loved meeting everyone and hopes to be able to see them again this holiday season.

We got back from our 10 day trip to California and had to get cracking on the packing situation. My super woman mom flew back down to save us. She helped us pack and she packed well! She was in charge of the breakables and I am happy to report that nothing was damaged during this move! We drove ourselves crazy being trapped in mazes of boxes. Dave and I managed to sneak away on a date and leave Addison home with Grandma. Dave's parents were also nice enough to join the event. They helped with the final packing as my mom and Addison and I left to fly to Cincinnati. They drove my car and Dave followed with the huge truck to meet us. They were able to stop in Gatlinburg to see Makel and go zip lining.

Addison survived her first plane ride. It was a long long flying day lasting about 10 hours. Her crying was minimal, but being in a small airplane can make that scream really loud!

The next event was Addison's baby blessing. It will have to wait. Addison is sitting naked crying at me to feed her!

Alive & Well

The Michael family is alive! It has been a whirlwind 10 weeks and we are finally catching our breath. Having a baby has brought us a lot of visitors and traveling. I am going to try and recap what the heck we have been doing.

* My parents were the first to visit. We loved having them around. Meals were fixed, laundry was done and folded and Addison was kissed and rocked around the clock.

Addison did a lot of this. She loves her swing and looks so stinking cute in it!

She was not very fond of her first bath. It took almost 6 weeks for her umbilical cord to fall off. She loves her baths now that she can be in the water and kick around.

Our first outing was dinner at Olive Garden. I was sadly still really nausea and not feeling well, but it was nice to get out.

Addison of course really enjoyed her first outing. Slept like a gem!

Dave was able to get almost 2 weeks off of work. It was really nice to have him around during the night.Although Dave somehow managed to sleep through all the crying and feedings:)

I have to note that Addison lived in the closet for 6 weeks. She enjoyed her room and it was a perfect fit!

*Grandma Michael came the day after my parents left.

Things started to feel a little more normal and we were able to show Sharon Ruidoso.

We were able to capture some almost smiles a few times. Now she is a smiling machine! It doesn't take much to get her to give you a full face grin.

* After Grandma Sharon left Dave flew to Buffalo to find us a place to live. I was terrified to be left all alone with Addison. Luckily I had great friends who checked in on me and invited me over for meals. We both survived and Dave was successful in finding a nice place for us to live.

*Auntie Katherine came to our rescue next. She loved on Addison's ever growing cheeks and helped the mama catch up on some beauty sleep.

We had a fun fourth of July celebration. It was extremely hot, but we managed a little cookout and made it to the spectacular fireworks show! I don't think Katherine had seen one so amazing until then:)

If you will notice Daddy Dave's leg. Addison has really learned to use her bodily functions. We have since learned to be fast once we hear her blow!

Well that is all the catching up I can handle for now. Too many boxes to unpack and diapers to change! Tonight we get to go to a baseball game for Dave's birthday from my siblings. Nothing better than a baseball hotdog and peanuts to end a tiring week of unpacking!

She is finally here! After 22 hours of long labor she made a grand entrance. She was born at 8:38pm weighing 7lbs 9oz and 21.25in long. She is a happy and healthy baby. She rarely cries and would sleep through the whole night if we would let her. We are definitely having a huge adjustment shock, but each day gets a little easier. We have been really blessed to have my mom here to help us out. Dave and I are beyond sleep deprived and she helps to take the day shift. I didn't think that one little body could change everything so much. We are truly grateful that everything went well and that we can now enjoy this sweet baby girl.

How can you not love that face!

I am tired, swollen, cranky, excited, ready, terrified... these are a few of the mixed emotions I am dealing with! Tonight is the night. We are going in to be induced and will soon be a family of three:) We went on one last date last night to a restaurant called Crave and redeemed one last 50% off at cold stone. Daddy Dave was able to get the next 9 days off to stay home and take the night shift here. Bags are packed and cameras charged so here we come!

Keep in mind that I have not slept in a week and my mom has been feeding us way to well!

I finally checked off my last baby project!! I have had a list going for months and being off of work has given me lots of time to fill:)

A reversible carseat cover. The biggest accomplishment was learning how to sew curves and a square! Now if I could only remember how to thread a bobbin right!

Now we just need a sweet little baby to fill the seat!

We did celebrate Easter around here. The Easter bunny came in full force this year. She usually takes care of both of us with one basket. Well the other bunny in the house did a basket as well so we will be eating candy until next Easter!

We had some friends over for a nice ham dinner and it was delicious! We enjoyed the leftovers for the next week.

The grandma Easter bunny even remembered the baby:)

Dave and I were lucky enough to have my good friend Lexy take some maternity pictures for us. It was super windy and dusty that day and Dave proved once again that photo shoots are not his favorite. We still had a lot of fun and she did an awesome job!

One Last Hurrah

Dave survived his man hunt and came back with a minor cut on his forehead. My prayers were answered and no pigs were brought home:) He was able to get a jack rabbit and was even brave (or not thinking) enough to try a little bite. All in all he said it was a good time and he can't wait to go again...(we shall see)!

After Dave had his weekend of freedom before the life of parenthood sets in we went on one last little trip. We went to a small town called Silver City, New Mexico. Dave splurged from a hotel better than Super 8 so I was on cloud nine! We went to a good Mexican restaurant and enjoyed exploring the town.We had planned to go to this place called the Catwalk in the Gila Valley National Forest. It was a longer drive than expected with no available bathrooms.I had never been so happy to see a port-a-potty. It was a decent little hike on the perfect day. The weather was cooler and most of the trail was shaded. Round trip took us about 4 hours due to the many pit stops we had to take. It was well worth the trip though!

Dave was wearing a camelpac. I leaned into it and this was the result. It took forever to dry and Dave just couldn't get enough laughs from it. Hopefully these types of accidents won't be a reality in the upcoming months.

I know I am a fashion statement with my support hose and capris.

We had a really nice weekend and I survived the the car ride with minimal back complaints and not too many bathroom breaks.

Dave has been busy fulfilling his end of the deal for going hunting. He has been building night stands. They are starting to come together nicely. I will be so happy to get rid of our walmart white plastic ones from my freshman year in the dorms!
As for me I am coming to an end of my working days. I was hoping they would kick me out sooner, but I keep showing up every morning:) Tomorrow is a field trip to the zoo. I am going to try to talk my way into being the official lunch box/water cooler watcher on a bench in the shade. I am coming up on 35 weeks! Dave and I are both in panic mode. This little lady will be here before we know it!

What a Good Guy

Dave went on a man pig hunting trip. He has been planning this FOREVER!! The deal was he had to draft up and find the right kind of wood to make us nightstands before he could go. Plans are made wood is available so off he went! He was only too happy to leave me whining with a head cold, swollen everything and just an aching 32 week pregnant body. I was napping and woke up to a delivery of pretty flowers! This never happens so I am stilling living off the happiness:)

I am sure there will be plenty of pictures of his adventure to come.

Lucky Number 4!

This past week we celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary! It always seems like it has been much longer. We both had the day off and it was nice to spend some time together. I will say that it felt more like my birthday. Dave was a good sport and fulfilled all of my favorite things right now. I got chocolate chip waffles, snow cones and brick oven pizza! It was a day full of filling our bellies. The night ended with a once in a lifetime opportunity for us. We had a breastfeeding class! It was a very long 2 and a half hours. We are both grateful it was a one night class and that Whataburger was close by for a milkshake afterward. We will be able to look back on this anniversary with fond memories:) I mean it isn't every year you get to attend a class that requires a stuffed animal!

My little preschoolers put together a fabulous baby shower last week! I really should say the Cougar Cub moms. They had games planned for the little ones, fancy food, pretty decorations, party favors and much much more. I felt very special throughout the whole day. I was even more impressed that it was kept a secret for the most part. I kept thinking that I had done something wrong from all of the whispering and stopping of conversation when I would walk by. There were only a few slip ups like, "Mrs. Michael I can't wait for your birthday party!" Followed by a confused look on my face. " You know for your baby!" It was fun to put it all together and see how excited they all were for me. I can't fail to mention the high school students who were thoughtful enough to get a gift and help decorate. It has made me think I need to be a little nicer to them now:)

Spring Break 2011!!

The anticipated week long Spring Break 2011 has come and gone. I have been counting down the days since my mom told me she was going to come see us for the break! We were able to fit in a lot and I am still recovering from all the fun outings. Dave enjoyed her being on dish duty and is really missing her now. I have now accepted the fact that we are having a baby. She helped me get all the little things that I didn't want to face and helped me organize the make shift baby room we have. Although I am still not sure if she really came to see us or to enjoy the sunshine!

We ventured over to White Sands for a picnic. I was worn out from Dave dragging me up all the hills.

After a day in the sun we drove to Ruidoso. We walked around all the little shops and ate at a really yummy Mexican restaurant. I was even lucky enough to find the perfect baby bedding!

Dave was able to pick up some extra shifts so we spent a lot of time baby shopping and eating fun lady lunches as Dave would say:)

We honored St. Patrick's Day with the traditional green eggs for breakfast. Followed by a dinner full of lots of green.

This was the challenge of the week. I wanted to make a shopping cart cover. It was my first pattern project and I am happy to report that we finished at the last minute the night before she left. After finishing I told my mom I was so happy she was there to help and I couldn't have done it without her. She replied no you probably couldn't have! I am just greatful she still wanted to be my friend after the many failed attempts:)

I have to add that not only is there is a fancy pink seat belt, but a pocket for goodies and a spot to clip link toys. Bring on the grocery shopping with a baby!

We found an amazing snow cone shop that I am now in love with! The only problem is that it is on the other side of town. We have mad a trip back though and hopefully it won't be the last.

I was very blessed to have a great group of friend's give me a baby shower while my mom was in town. It was such a nice party and everything turned out beautiful. Baby Addison should feel very loved from all the generosity that she received.

Double Digits

I know the floating baby countdown creeps most people out. However, I almost fell out of my chair when I looked at it with only double digits!!!! I am not really ready for that. 99 days still seems like a ton, but the 99 before that went by really fast. The sooner that number counts down the sooner I don't have to chase 24 little ones around. We moved buildings at work and we now have flights (plural as in 3...yuck!) of stairs involved. I might just take the janitor up on the elevator key offer one of these days. Today was a beautiful day and I enjoyed it by walking around the outlets. I am on a budget so most of it was window shopping, but somehow the little baby lucked out again with a sale or two:)

Busy! Busy! Busy!

I have caught a BUG! The sewing bug that is. I took a class to learn how to use my machine all by myself. I have colored tabs all over reminding me what to do. I love it! I even thread my own bobbin the other night and it was a success. I am finishing up a few projects that I have wanted to do for a long time. Never thought I would say that all I want to do tonight is SEW!

6 Months & Counting...

I am officially 24 weeks! I am starting to feel the bump for sure! It shot up into the 80's out of no where and I was still trying to wear long sleeves and pants to work. I quickly changed my wardrobe to Summer (is it really only February??). I think I am going to die come June. I am pleased to report that I have settled on a more reasonable craving of frosted mini wheats the fruit flavored kind. My feet are starting to swell after running around at work and I had to put my heels to rest and break out the flats. Overall, I am still a happy pregnant lady driving Dave emotional nuts:)

Happy Valentine's Day 2011

This year we lucked out with Dave getting Valentine's Day off of work! I came home from work to find some pretty flowers!

We went out to lunch and enjoyed the beautiful weather! Dave said he still had an errand to run so I took a little nap. Until I was woken up by a phone call with him saying, "This will be really beneficial to our food storage...." I say, "No you are not getting a gun" as I hang up with him still pleading. He comes home and hands me a gift for the baby.

Ok so I admit the outfits are cute and he later added booties that matched. Needless to say about an hour later I was waiting in line buying a rifle on VALENTINE'S DAY! Still not really sure how it all happened and it is safe to say none of the other men buying guns had wives or girl friends there.

Just so I document this Dave's sudden urge for this toy is that he wants to go shoot a pig. I don't always understand his desires and this one makes the top of the list for sure! We worked out a deal that if he drafts up plans for nightstands and gets started on them he can go. Fair enough right?

I managed to surprise Dave with a few things as well.

Some fancy carhart work pants and a wallet that he has now returned twice!

The night ended with a traditional fondue dinner that we prepared together.

We had a great day of love and as I am going to bed Dave comes running in with a card and a gift card to Barnes and Noble:) I am set with a years supply of chocolate from all of my cute students too!

The maternity jeans have been a success! I can bend over at work and I feel like a free woman! Not so sure why I was fighting it for so long:)

On a sad note I have lost a toenail due to stumbling around in the night trying to find the bathroom. The things I do already for this baby! Speaking of this baby...I am unbelievably hungry all of the time. It is something that I have never experienced and I think it is starting to scare Dave. Keeping up with him at dinner is no longer a challenge and he is sadly missing my leftovers.I am horribly embarrassed to even state this, but it needs to be known that a recent craving has been Whataburger! I think the place is gross and always judged Dave when he wanted it. Well now the tables sure have turned!

We are at the end of the Air Force application process! After almost two months of Dave filling out information and getting letters of recommendations we can see the light! He had a phone interview with an air force CRNA and today he went to Alamagordo, NM to meet with a nurse. All is well so far and now we just wait to see if he got the scholarship. I am really proud of him and all of his dedication in planning our future.

Time Off

I am going on my 4th day off work tomorrow. I can't believe I am about to say this but, HURRY UP! I would like to have my routine back and make some cash flow here! Too bad Dave has had to work on all my days off and as soon as I do go back he has 7 days off. Such is our life! Anyway, we feel blessed to have not been effected by the harsh weather. We had power, water and lots of heat. This was a motivation to be better prepared in case we need to shower from a bucket:) We now have a very clean apartment and a few projects have been dusted off and finished. Most importantly I have almost made it through all the Harry Potter movies! Tomorrow will be the day I give me and buy jeans with a stretchy panel. This baby is starting to kick harder. After many nights of Dave trying to feel her and being unsuccessful she finally came through and now he knows she is really in there:) Looking forward to her practicing her goal kicks now!

Sweet News

On January 11th I think that Dave's world was turned upside down as the doctor proudly announced that we were having a baby girl!! He sat in silence for a little bit as I of course smiled and cried. His response to the news was how is he going to emotionally handle two girls?!? Everyone thought it was a boy except for the grandma's so I guess they win the prize!

We have the name Addison June picked out. June was my grandma's name and I absolutely adored her so Addison being born in June is perfect.

The overwhelming reality has set in of preparing for this bundle now that we know it is a girl. Girl clothes and things are just so much fun! I can hardly stand it all and Dave can hardly pay for it:) Our guest bedroom is starting to pile up with lots of frilly girlie things. Aunt Katie,Aunt Eliza and Grandma Fajen are already spoiling her! Even little cousin Ella wrote her a love note:)

I have a few things that I want to make before she gets here. For Christmas I got a gift certificate to take a sewing class. Dave helped me carry in my machine and once we walked in he leaned over and asked me if I still wanted to stay. Everyone had really fancy machines and probably had a good 40 years on me. I stayed and all I can say is that Addison will be forced to love this blanket even if it is crooked and ugly. I came home and Dave was kind enough to unpick my 4 hours of sewing so I can start over fresh. The class is every Tuesday and I do plan on going back and finishing my project, just with better material and more patience.

Not being able to set up a nursery, because we will be moving about 7 weeks later, is a big bummer. Another lesson in patience, right. We are loving our doctor's appointments. Addison is not shy and is already showing her personality (which is slightly worrying me). She likes to suck on her hands and have her toes right by her mouth and over her head. She would not sit still during the ultrasound and it was amazing to see how much she can move! She has been referred to as a big baby every time so I am hoping it is just an optical illusion on the machine:). The most important thing is that she is healthy and looks pretty happy.

On a really happy note I am really starting to feel her move all the time. Mostly after I eat my mint milanos or cold stones lemon sorbet. The cravings have begun much to my dismay. To help balance the cravings I joined the YMCA and have started to swim 3 days a week. I have always loved swimming and I am really enjoying myself. I need to get a bigger bathing suit so that every time I get out of the water the life guard doesn't have to stare!

18 Weeks

A new haircut and 20 weeks. And no that is not a basketball shoved under there as many of my preschools ask me daily.
